The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Command Sergeant Major Michael B. Mabee, United States Army Reserve, for heroism above and beyond the call of duty on 11 September 2001, after a hijacked airline flight was used by international terrorists as a weapon to attack the World Trade Center in New York City. Command Sergeant Major Mabee unselfishly placed the life of a handicapped co-worker above his own. His personal courage, valor, and bravery are directly attributable to saving the life of his fellow worker. Command Sergeant Major Mabee’s actions reflect great credit upon himself, the 94th Region Support Command, and the United States Army Reserve.
