    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Executive Order 11046, 24 August 1962, takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V” to First Lieutenant Vo Van Bach, Army of the Republic of Vietnam, for heroism in connection with military operations against a hostile force. First Lieutenant Bach distinguished himself by heroic action on 13 July 1969 while serving as a Platoon Leader with the 825 Regional Forces Company conducting a combat operation in Binh Phuo District, Long An Province, Republic of Vietnam. During the conduct of the operation, the friendly forces became heavily engaged with an unknown sized enemy force. Exposing himself to the intense enemy fire, First Lieutenant Bach led his unit in an assault on the enemy position which resulted int eh complete destruction of the enemy force. Throughout the entire action, First Lieutenant Bach displayed outstanding leadership qualities and tactical knowledge which were instrumental in the success of the entire operation. First Lieutenant Bach’s heroic actions reflect great credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Vietnam.
