The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Sergeant Major Michael D. Schultz, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States over a 34-yar career, culminating as the Special Senior Enlisted Advisor, United States Army Reserve Medical Command. Sergeant Major Schultz’ expertise, superior leadership skills, and executive management abilities greatly contributed to the training and readiness of Soldiers throughout the United States Army Reserve. His performance has been nothing short of superb; he embodies Army values and presents a standard of discipline for all to emulate. Sergeant Major Schultz’ distinctive accomplishments are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the Army Reserve Medical Command, and the United States Army.
