The Secretary of the Army of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Army Commendation Medal with Combat V to Staff Sergeant Anderson Jarvis, United States Army, for exceptionally valorous service while serving with Company A, 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, on 28 November 2006, in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Staff Sergeant Jarvis’ heroic actions during combat operations in Iraq contributed to the overwhelming success of the Command’s mission. Staff Sergeant Jarvis’ bravery is in keeping with the finest traditions of military heroism and reflects distinct credit upon himself, the Read First Combat Team, and the United States Army.
