The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Airman’s Medal to Technical Sergeant Lenote M. Vigare, United States Air Force, for heroism involving voluntary risk of life on 3 December 1960 at Anderson Air Force Base, Guam. On that date, despite a broken ankle sustained in a fifteen foot drop from a helicopter, Sergeant Vigare succeeded in rescuing an individual from the bottom of a 400 feet precipice near Anao Point, Guam. The determination, devotion to duty and courage exhibited by Sergeant Vigare reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
