(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Private First Class Charles Dawes, United States Army, for heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy of the United States while serving with Headquarters Battery, Division Artillery, 3d Infantry Division, in action at Port Lyautey, French Morocco, on 11 April 1943. The exemplary courage and heroism displayed by Private First Class Dawes reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
