Calvin Titus was a non-graduating member of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1940. His father by the same name earned the Medal of Honor during the Boxer Rebellion in China in 1900, and subsequently was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy, where his Medal of Honor was awarded while he was a cadet.

    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant (Air Corps) Calvin Pearl Titus, Jr. (ASN: 0-432552), United States Army Air Forces, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving with the NINTH Air Force, in aerial operations in the North Africa Theater of Operations, in 1942 and 1943. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by First Lieutenant Titus, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army Air Forces.
