In spite of being attacked by four hostile aircraft which outnumbered his element two to one, Captain Coe was able to negate the attack on the force and destroyed one of the aircraft by an air-to-air missile, thus allowing the strike force to complete their mission safely. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Captain Coe has reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Air Force.
