Flying in support of troops of the U.S. Army’s 1st Infantry Division who were under heavy attack near Loc Ninh, Captain Miko braved a continuous barrage of artillery fire to come on over the fighting. He voluntarily subjected himself to even greater damage by making numerous low strafing passes to pound the hostile gunners. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Captain Miko has reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Air Force.
