The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Captain (Infantry) Paul S. Hindsley, United States Army, for heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy of the United States while serving with Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion (Ranger), 75th Infantry Regiment (Ranger). Captain Hindsley distinguished himself by heroism above and beyond the call of duty on 11 February 1981, at Fort Lewis, Washington. His courageous actions were in the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit on himself and the United States Army.
