    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Sergeant Raynor M. Wilson (ASN: 36145389), United States Army, for heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy of the United States. On 6 May 1944, near Cadbey, England. When a lorry overturned on the Oadbey-Wigston Road and burst into flames, three girls who were riding as passengers were injured and in danger of death from burning when their clothing caught fire. Sergeant Wilson, without a moment’s hesitation and with no thought of danger to himself, rushed to the rescue. He extinguished the flames consuming one of the passengers and carried her to safety. His prompt and gallant action prevented the death of the woman.
