The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Private First Class Louis F. Horwath (ASN: 39296780), United States Army, for meritorious service in Germany, on 1 March 1945, in connection with military operations against the enemy. As Wireman, Private First Class Horwath distinguished himself by showing extreme courage and executing difficult signal repairs under heavy enemy fire. On several occasions, Private First Class Horwath has volunteered to perform wire maintenance while the wire lines were known to be under fire from the enemy. The courage and complete devotion to duty displayed by Private First Class Horwath reflect great credit upon himself and the Military Service.
