The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Colonel Elliott and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Army.

Lieutenant Colonel Elliott distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous actions while serving as an Advisor with Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, in action against the enemy in 1969 and 1970. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Lieutenant Colonel Elliott, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
