Bobby Vinson graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1950. He was listed as Missing in Action following a mission in Southeast Asia while serving as an Air Force Colonel during the Vietnam War, and subsequently was declared dead.

His devotion to duty and courage under all conditions serve as an inspiration to his fellow flyers. His actions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
