(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant (Infantry) William Harrison Travis, United States Army, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving with the 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, in action against the enemy in Korea from 1950 to 1951. Lieutenant Travis’ outstanding courage and dedication to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army.
