(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Colonel (Infantry) Joseph Homer Hoffman, Jr., United States Army, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as a Battalion Commander of the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, in action in the Republic of Vietnam. Colonel Hoffman’s outstanding courage and dedication to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army.
