The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Edward C. Kenney (ASN: 0-1287193), United States Army, for meritorious service in action as Liaison Officer of the 338th Infantry Regiment and the 337th Infantry Regiment during the push from Mount Pratone to Moscheta, Italy, from 17 to 20 September 1944. Lieutenant Kenney was forward at all times, being under enemy artillery, mortar, and small arms fire. In spite of adverse weather conditions and hazardous trails and roads, he made frequent trips between the regiments both day and night to keep his regiment’s Commander posted with needed information of our flank unit which aided materially in the success of the 337th Infantry Regiment in taking its objectives.
