(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Major Harry G. Harcourt, Australian Imperial Force, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action while serving with the Australian Imperial Force, in action near Buna, New Guinea, from 16 November 1942 to 2 December 1942. Major Harcourt continually visited his most advanced positions near Buna. He led his company with courage and determination, and in operations south of Cape Endaiadere was able to secure information of great value to the commander of the force. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the Military Service.
