(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Airman First Class William Ward Scoville (AFSN: AF-16850017), United States Air Force, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for gallantry in action while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force while serving as a Weapons Mechanic with the 4th Air Command Squadron, Phu Cat Air Base, Vietnam, in Southeast Asia on 3 October 1967.
