Riddle, United States Air Force, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an armed hostile force while serving as a C-123 Pilot with the 309th Air Commando Squadron, Phan Rang Air Base, Republic of Vietnam, in action over Southeast Asia from 1967 to 1968. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Air Force.
