The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain (Air Corps) Felix Michael Rogers (ASN: 0-744759), United States Army Air Forces, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Fighter Pilot of the 353d Fighter Squadron, 354th Fighter Group, NINTH Air Force, in action against the enemy in aerial combat in the European Theater of Operations. On 7 July 1944, Captain Rogers engaged a superior force of enemy aircraft and vigorously pressed home his attack, destroying two enemy aircraft. The outstanding courage, superb aerial proficiency, and deep devotion to duty displayed by Captain Rogers on this occasion is in keeping with the highest traditions of the Army Air Forces.

    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Major (Air Corps) Felix Michael Rogers (ASN: 0-744759), United States Army Air Forces, for gallantry in action against the enemy as Pilot of a P-51 Mustang Fighter Airplane of the 353d Fighter Squadron, 354th Fighter Group, NINTH Air Force, in action on 8 May 1944. While serving as pilot of a P-51 type aircraft participating in a bomber-escort mission to Berlin, Major Rogers, together with his wingman attacked a large number of enemy aircraft which menaced the bombers. After his wingman had received severe battle damage, forcing him to break from the attack, Major Rogers continued to engage the superior enemy numbers alone, and in a fearless display of flying technique, maneuvered with them until they were forced to disperse. Later, he demonstrated unusual bravery in intercepting three enemy aircraft which were attacking a crippled bomber, destroying one and dispersing the remainder. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Major Rogers, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army Air Forces.
