The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918 (amended by an act of July 25, 1963), takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Captain Dino Michael Ragagli, Jr. (AFSN: FR-73723), United States Air Force, for gallantry in connection with military operations against an opposing armed force while serving with the 13th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Korat Royal Thai Air Base, Thailand, in action at Yen Bai, North Vietnam, on 19 July 1967. On that date, as an F-105F Electronics Warfare Officer/Navigator-Bombardier he attacked an important railroad marshalling yard. In spite of hostile defenses and intense ground fire, constant surface-to-air missile threat, and high power searchlights, he pressed the attack and placed his bombs on target. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Captain Ragagli has reflected great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
