    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant Ira Malven Porter (AFSN: A0-1910536), United States Air Force, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving as Pilot of an F-86 Sabrejet Fighter Airplane of the 335th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, 4th Fighter-Interceptor Group, FIFTH Air Force, in aerial operations in Korea, on 4 September 1952. On that date, First Lieutenant Porter destroyed two enemy MiG fighter aircraft in aerial combat. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by First Lieutenant Porter, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
