Caulfield, United States Marine Corps, was awarded the Legion of Merit with Combat “V” for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Operations Officer and Executive Officer, Third Battalion, Twenty-Sixth Marines, in the Republic of Vietnam in 1967 and 1968. (Major Caulfield is authorized to wear the Combat “V”.)
