The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CWO-2) Bobby Warren Miller (ASN: W-3160364), United States Army, for heroism while participating in aerial flight evidenced by voluntary actions above and beyond the call of duty on 12 February 1969. Warrant Officer Miller distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous actions while serving as Aircraft Commander of a UH-1H helicopter during combat assault missions in Binh Thuan Province. While his helicopter was exposed to extremely heavy enemy fire, he made several combat assault sorties. Due to his pin-pointing of enemy targets, gunships were able to knock out many enemy positions. Through his courage and sound judgment, he contributed immeasurably to the success of the mission. His actions were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
