    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant John R. Murray (AFSN: 0-1908577), United States Air Force, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving as Pilot of an F-80 Shooting Star Fighter-Bomber with the 35th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, 8th Fighter-Bomber Group, FIFTH Air Force, in action in Korea, in 1951 and 1952. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by First Lieutenant Murray, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
