Thomas Moorman graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1933. From 1965 to 1970 he served as the 5th Superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and retired in 1970 as a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General. His son, by the same name, retired as a U.S. Air Force 4-Star General.
