(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: First Lieutenant Gary M. Rubus, United States Air Force, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as an F-4 Aircraft Commander, 433d Tactical Fighter Squadron, 8th Tactical Fighter Wing, Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, from 1969 to 1970; and subsequently as an F-4 Instructor Pilot of the 307th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 31st Tactical Fighter Wing, Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand in 1972, in action against the enemy over Southeast Asia. His devotion to duty and courage under all conditions serve as an inspiration to his fellow flyers. His actions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
