As a member of the Colorado National Guard, Lee Paschall was ordered to active duty in 1940 and was commissioned in the Army Infantry in 1942. In 1946 he returned to inactive military status working with the Colorado Air National Guard. He returned to active duty in the Air Force in 1951, and retired in 1978 as a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General. In 1999, General Paschall was the first person elected to the Air Force Communications and Information Hall of Fame. An award for the top student in each Advanced Communications and Information Officer Training class at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi is named for him.
