Patricia Lewis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in social sciences and a Master of Arts degree in education administration from the University of the Philippines, Manila. In 1979, she received a direct commission in the Air Force Medical Service Corps as a second lieutenant. She retired in 2009 as a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General.
