    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Brigadier General Jeanne M. Holm, United States Air Force, was awarded the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States as Director, Women in the Air Force, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Personnel, from 1965 to 1972. General Holm was responsible for overall staff cognizance of and advice on matters concerning military women in the Air Force. During her tenure, policies affecting women were updated, WAF strength more than doubled, job and assignment opportunities greatly expanded, and uniforms modernized. She has been an active exponent for expanding the opportunities for women to serve in the Armed Forces and a catalyst for changing their roles and career opportunities within the Air Force. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Holm and her dedicated contributions in the service of her country reflect the highest credit upon herself and the United States Air Force.
