Griffith (AFSN: FR-57966/AO-3069804), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Combat Aircrew Member in Southeast Asia on 24 May 1967. On that date, Captain Griffith was flying a combat support mission against unfriendly ground forces, and while under moderate to heavy tracking anti-aircraft artillery fire, demonstrated courage, determination, and superior skill in pressing home attacks against their hostile positions. Persevering in the face of danger and death, he relentlessly and effectively aided in neutralizing the hostile forces. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Griffith reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

Griffith (AFSN: FR-57966/AO-3069804), United States Air Force, for gallantry in connection with military operations against an opposing armed force over North Vietnam on 12 August 1967. On that date, Major Griffith helped destroy a surface-to-air missile site, helped prevent a missile attack on a large friendly strike force and at great personal risk came to the aid of two stricken aircraft by attacking two unfriendly aircraft. This was accomplished while under attack by four surface-to-air missile sites, and intense and accurate anti-aircraft fire. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Major Griffith has reflected great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
