    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Staff Sergeant Louis J. Glavan (ASN: 35306016), United States Army Air Forces, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving as a member of the Air Crew of a B-24 Liberator Bomber in the 531st Bombardment Squadron, 380th Bombardment Group (Heavy), EIGHTH Air Force (Attached to RAAF), while participating in a bombing mission on 26 October 1943, against enemy Japanese targets at Pomelaa, Celebes, east of Timor in the Southwest Pacific Area. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Staff Sergeant Glavan, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army Air Forces.
