Duehring, United States Air Force, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as a Forward Air Controller, 22d Tactical Air Support Squadron and subsequently as a Raven Forward Air Controller, Detachment 1, 56th Special Operations Wing, in action over Southeast Asia from 1969 to 1971.
