Craig Duehring was commissioned through the Air Force Officer Training School in 1968. He flew more than 800 missions during the Vietnam War and retired in 1996 as a U.S. Air Force Colonel. He subsequently was appointed as the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, serving from 2007 to 2009.
