The President of the United States of America, authorized by Executive Order 11046, 24 August 1962, takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Lieutenant Colonel Arthur F. Dennis (AFSN: FV-1911974), United States Air Force, for meritorious service as Chief, Fighter Frag Branch, Attack Fighter Division, Directorate of Combat Operations, SEVENTH Air Force, while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force from 10 June 1967 to 1 November 1967. During this period, Lieutenant Colonel Dennis’ superior performance and expertise were instrumental in the translation of general operational concepts and strategy into well defined fragmentary orders for conduct of strike missions into North Vietnam. The exemplary leadership, personal endeavor, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Colonel Dennis in this responsible position reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Lieutenant Colonel Arthur F. Dennis (AFSN: FV-1911974), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-105 Pilot over Viet Tri, North Vietnam on 15 January 1967. On that date, Colonel Dennis was element leader in a flight of four F-105’s on a strike mission against the vital railroad yards at Viet Tri, North Vietnam. In spite of intense anti-aircraft artillery, hostile fighters in the area, poor visibility and a surface-to-air missile launched at the flight during the bomb run, Colonel Dennis delivered his ordnance directly on the target resulting in serious damage to this important hostile transportation facility. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Colonel Dennis reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

Dennis (AFSN: FV-1911974), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-105 pilot near Hanoi, North Vietnam on 2 January 1967. On that date, Lieutenant Colonel Dennis piloted an aircraft on a combat mission for an extended period, drawing fire and suppressing surface-to-air combat. This attack on the North Vietnamese air arm was greatly aided by the unselfish display of courage and airmanship by Lieutenant Colonel Dennis. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Colonel Dennis reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
