(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Major General Edwin A. Coy, United States Air Force, was awarded the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States as Director of Space, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Research and Development, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, with responsibility for space research and systems development activities from 1976 to 1978, with added duties as Director of Space Systems Command and Control Communication; culminating as Commander of the 1st Strategic Aerospace Division from 1978 to 1980. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Coy culminate a long and distinguished career in the service of his country and his dedicated contributions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
