Albert Clark graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1936. While serving as a fighter pilot during World War II, he was shot down in July 1942, captured, and held for nearly 3 years as a Prisoner of War. From 1970 to 1974 he served as the 6th Superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado. He retired in 1974 as a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General.
