Burgess (AFSN: 0-3155035), United States Air Force, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action as a member of the 7th Air Force, while serving with friendly forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in Southeast Asia on 3 November 1967. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Captain Burgess has reflected great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
