The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal to Major General Jones Edward Bolt (ASN: 0-460075), United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States. General Bold distinguished himself as Inspector General, Air Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, from 3 August 1971 to 31 July 1973. By his dynamic leadership and professionalism, General Bolt served to instill in commanders and staff managers throughout the Command a fundamental philosophy for professionalism and dedication that insured mission accomplishment of the highest order. His exemplary ability as planner, organizer and manager assured that positive and forward-looking programs were maintained in a wide range of Command managed affairs and was a catalyst for the continued advancement of Air Force Training operations. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Bolt culminate a long and distinguished career in the service of his country and his dedicated contributions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
