Robert Foglesong was commissioned in the Air Force in 1972 after earning degrees BSc, MSc and PhD from West Virginia University. From 1997 to 1999 he served as Assistant to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff. From 2001 to 2003 he served as the 30th Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force. He retired in 2006 as a U.S. Air Force 4-Star General.
