The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Service Medal (Air Force) to Brigadier General Jarred Vincent Crabb (ASN: 0-17996/535A), United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility as Deputy Commander of the NINTH Air Force, Greenville South Carolina from 1946 to 1987; Commander of the THIRTEENTH Air Force at Clark Air Force Base, Luzon, Philippine Islands from 1948 to 1949, and as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Far East Air Forces, with headquarters at Tokyo, Japan, from 1949 to 1952. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Crabb and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
