The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Colonel Frank Worth Elliott, Jr. (AFSN: 0-825605), United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service to the United States as Deputy Executive and Executive to the Vice Chief of Staff, United States Air Force, from 16 May 1966 to 15 June 1969. In this demanding and critical position, the mature judgment and professional competence exhibited by Colonel Elliott were of invaluable assistance to the Vice Chief of Staff in his direction of the world-wide mission of the United States Air Force. Colonel Elliott’s outstanding initiative, managerial ability, tact, and loyalty earned for him the deepest respect of his associates in the Air Staff, the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Colonel Elliott reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
