Frank Petersen enlisted in the Navy in 1950 and served as an electronics technician. He completed flight training in 1952 as received his wings and his Marine Corps Commission. During his career he has held the respective titles of “Silver Hawk” and “Gray Eagle” denoting earliest date of aviator designation by an active duty member of the Navy and Marine Corps. He retired as a United States Marine Corps Lieutenant General.
