(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Colonel Robert L. Nichols, United States Marine Corps, was awarded the Legion of Merit with Combat “V” for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Division Deputy G-3, Chief of Staff, TASK FORCE YANKEE; and as Commanding Officer, Seventh Marines, FIRST Marine Division in the Republic of Vietnam in 1966.
