Anthony Lukeman entered military service in 1954 after graduating from Dartmouth College. During his career he served in the three active Marine Divisions and commanded infantry organizations at the platoon, company, battalion and regimental levels. During his second tour in Vietnam in 1974-75 he participated in planning and executing the evacuation of U.S. and Vietnamese citizens from Saigon in 1975. He retired as a U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant General.
