John Kelley enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1970 and was discharged in 1972 as a Sergeant. After his subsequent graduation from the University of Massachusetts in 1976, he returned to service and was commissioned in the Marine Corps. He currently serves as a United States Marine Corps Lieutenant General.
