Thomas Gorry graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hills, North Carolina in 1984. He was a collegiate wrestler for the Tarheels from 1980 – 1984, receiving a varsity letter in each of the four years and serving as team co-captain his senior year. He was commissioned through the Officer Candidate Course as a Marine Corps second lieutenant in 1985. He currently serves as a U.S. Marine Corps Brigadier General.
