(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Brigadier General Alvin S. Sanders (MCSN: 0-5829), United States Marine Corps, was awarded a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award of the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commanding General, Marine Corps Supply Center, Albany Georgia, from February 1965 to May 1967. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Sanders culminate a long and distinguished career in the service of his country and reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Marine Corps.
