(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Major Louis Bentham Robertshaw (MCSN: 0-5294), United States Marine Corps, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as Commanding Officer of Marine Scout Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-TWO (VMSB-132), Marine Aircraft Group Eleven, in the Pacific Theater of Operations in November and December 1942. Major Robertshaw made an air attack on a group of Japanese transports in which he scored a direct hit on one transport and several damaged land installations in the Solomon Islands area.
